The albatross, the bird of the seas, is a long-distance traveller, only reaching dry land after flying thousands of kilometres.

After many adventures which took our family as far as Asia, we came across this house. We needed to settle and this old farm welcomed us.

It is at the entrance to Alsemberg, a small town in Flemish Brabant, exactly 15km form the Grand Place in Brussels and 7km from Waterloo and its famous Lion.

The rear of the house is bucolic, being surrounded by meadows where cows graze contentedly in the Spring.

The oldest part of the house dates from 1832 and had been in the same family until we bought it in 1998.

The lady of the house, an artist, welcomes you warmly throughout the year.
